Hello to all the Lions in our
wonderful District!
My theme this year is Plant Some
C’s and Watch Us Grow! which supports International
President Eberthart Wirfs theme of “Move
to Grow”. I believe we should take some time and
think about what the C’s means to us, our families, our
clubs and those we service in general. We may find
ourselves needing to take action to fully grasp what we
are capable of accomplishing, once we put our minds to
it!
Let me illustrate: each of the C’s
listed below can be planted anywhere and nurtured in so
many areas of our lives, including those we service. A
helping hand, a kind word or deed, some place to go for
camaraderie or fellowship, an activity to help pass the
time, great conversation, or just for some
entertainment. All of these activities mean something
different to people, so, why not plant some C’s and
watch the growth happen! A helping hand might mean the
recipient helps another, which is growth in kindness. A
kind word might mean the recipient passes it on in times
of trouble, which is personal growth. Having a place for
someone to go for camaraderie may mean growth in
relationships for those that are in need. And great
conversation might mean growth in understanding, which
so often times we see things we do and say as
misunderstood.
Once you get hooked on planting
C’s, there is no way growth cannot occur! Isn’t that
exciting! So take a look around and see what C’s you can
plant! And let me know what growth happens so we can
Celebrate (another C)!
