LIONS QUEST

Lions Quest programs are school-based, comprehensive, positive youth development and prevention programs.  Three Lions Quest programs help students gain positive attitudes and important life skills through easy-to-use classroom materials, solid teacher in-service experiences, and important community links.

Lions Quest addresses the fundamental issues facing schools today, by helping young people develop strong character; healthy, positive relationships with parents and peers; and productive problem-solving skills.  Key issues addressed are bullying, substance abuse, violence, character and community connection.

Lions Quest Skills for Growing is a comprehensive K-5 program focusing on life skills, service-learning, and character education. The program directs children’s creative energies into becoming capable and healthy young people with a sense of direction, solid skills, and a strong commitment to their families, schools, and communities.

Lions Quest Skills for Adolescence is a comprehensive life skills and drug prevention curriculum for grades 6-8 that emphasizes character development, communication, decision making, and service-learning.  It is also a strong prevention tool–guiding young people toward healthy choices and a drug- and violence-free lifestyle.

Lions Quest Skills for Action is an innovative and flexible curriculum for grades 9-12 that moves beyond the classroom to build essential life and citizenship skills through community and school-based service-learning experiences.

Students learn to communicate effectively, analyze and solve problems, set and achieve goals, work successfully as part of a team, and resolve conflicts peacefully. Students also develop the means to resist negative peer pressure, make healthy choices, and to understand and appreciate diversity in the classroom, school, and broader community.
